 Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar for PONS 

 

   

According to scientific studies, apple cider vinegar is known to offer a wide range of benefits to canine health. The presence of a natural array of acids and minerals contributes to maintaining  acid balance and mineral metabolism  and  it contains a balance of 19 minerals, including potassium, chlorine, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, sulphur, iron, fluorine and silicon, and 93 components that can regulate body function. Vitamins found in apple cider vinegar include Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Provitamin beta-carotene.

Apple cider vinegar contains rich sources of malic acid and citric acid. These are believed to be important in the metabolic cycle and helps to remove toxic substances that may cause painful joints and muscular pain. It is believed to relieve symptoms of arthritis and muscular pains and in fact ACV is traditionally used as a treatment for rheumatoid and osteo-arthritis, as well as other conditions. It helps breaks down calcium deposits in the joints while remineralizing the bones and  has proven to be  beneficial to dogs with joint problems caused by age and genetic conditions.

Candida Albicans  Yeast Infection (fungus):

Symptoms include licking paws, genital area, itchy feet and skin, bacteria infections of ears and bladder. Raw ACV added to food/drinking water (2 teaspoons per day) under the guidance of your vet, will help yeast infections. ACV found in supermarkets will not offer these benefits unless containers clearly state that it is raw and contains the "mother". Visit local health food stores, farms or order online.

 

ACV is known to be a deterrent for fleas, mange, ringworm and other skin parasites. Owners have even used it to successfully stop the itching caused by mange and other  health conditions.

In summary, ACV is beneficial for arthritis and rheumatism, internal/external parasites, skin ailments, scours/diarrhea, improved growth rates, loss of appetite, improved coat condition, fertility, acetonaemia, improved milk yields, improved digestion, etc., etc., and is full of vitamins and minerals.


 

 

Grooming Tip

 

"It helps to clean coat stains - which most probably result from Candida sp. infection. To my experience, when used in spray (diluted with water) it improves coat and skin condition a lot - in different dogs and coat types - I have been using it on pons, welsh corgis and collies. Additionally in collies and corgis it enhances coat color -  both black and sable. Actually, I found that it is the best remedy to keep black, shiny coats for an entire year"

Important

The apple cider vinegar, needs to be organic RAW apple cider vinegar, which you can purchase from health food shops and upscale food markets. I get mine from Whole Foods. Regular apple cider vinegar one purchases from supermarkets does not offer the above mentioned benefits which PON owners require.
